Discovery
is Home
After
an extra day in space, the crew of Discovery finally returned to Earth.
It was supposed to land at the Kennedy Space Center Florida, but due
to unfavorable weather Discovery was made to land at Edwards Air Force
Base in California on Aug 9, 2005. The shuttle and its crew had spent
two weeks in space, most of it aboard the International Space Station.

Pandey-Martyr or Accidental Hero?

film based on his life and times titled Mangal Pandey: The Rising
starring Indian actor, Aamir Khan with Toby Stephens, Rani Mukerji
and Amisha Patel was released in August 2005.
The Rising is an epic tale of friendship, love, loss and betrayal
set against the backdrop of the Indian Mutiny of 1857. This sweeping
epic is based on real historical events, seen as a trigger for Indian

Pole Vault Queen
Yelena
Isinbayeva, vaulted into history when she became the first female
pole-vaulter to clear 5-metres on July 22, 2005 in London. She has
won the 2004 Olympic Gold Medal with a new World Record (then 4.91m),
was elected Female Athlete of the Year in the same year by the IAAF
and has set numerous World Records. At the age of just 23 she's seen
as the best female pole-vaulter in history. She has already crowned
herself 5-time major champion (Olympic, world outdoor and indoor champion
