Register
You can enjoy a whole lot of special content and benefits while browsing Netfundu.com - but first you have to register and become a member of this site.
How do I register?
Click on the 'New User! Register' button on the right panel of the Netfundu home page. On the right hand side of the 'Login' window you'll see a box, which says 'Join Now'. Click on this box. A registration form will open. Fill in the required details in this form and submit it. Once you do this successfully, a new page will open wherein you will be told that you've become a member of Netfundu.com. Your membership details and your e-mail ID will be shown on this page. Please save them for reference.
What are the benefits of registering?
You can use our special features and services like E-mail, Chat, Planner, E-pals, My Home Page; participate in our various contests and enjoy special membership benefits which will be announced from time to time. As a member of the site, you will also be eligible to subscribe to the Netfundu Membership Card (Platinum/Gold/Silver) which entitles you to enjoy a host of Fundu Rewards and privileges.
Do I have to subscribe to a Membership Card to become a member of this site?
No, you do not need to subscribe to the Netfundu Membership Card (Platinum/Gold/Silver) to become a member of this site. Even without ordering the Card you can register on the site and use our special features and services like E-mail, Chat, Planner, E-pals, My Home Page, Contests. However you will not be able to enjoy Fundu Rewards and other privileges as may be available for Membership Card holders (some of these offers are simply great - click here to know more about the membership card).
I am a Netfundu member with a green Membership Card. Do I have to register again to order the new Netfundu Membership Card?
No, you do not need to register again to subscribe to the new Netfundu Membership Card (Platinum/Gold/Silver). Check our 'Get Your Membership Card' page for a special offer on the Membership Card for existing Netfundu members with the green membership card.
Do I have to be a kid to register?
No. Although Netfundu is primarily a site for kids, our focus on fun and learning is something which interests adults as well. Then again, we don't want to restrict parents of younger kids who might want to pick up some 'Fundu Facts' or 'Offline Activities' for their kids. That is why membership to this site is open to anyone who is interested in this 'Fun-Learning' hangout in cyberspace.

Login
Certain sections of Netfundu.com can be used only after you login as a member. To become a member please register with the site.
How to login?
On the homepage you'll find the login button (User ID ) on the top right corner. You only need to enter your 'login ID' and 'password'. Press the 'Go' button after entering your information. Now you are logged on to the site. You will remain logged on as long as you don't close the site window.
I tried to login but it didn't work.
Make sure you enter the right 'login ID' and 'password'. Remember your password is case sensitive. This means that if your password is "Boot" with a capital 'B' and you enter "boot" with a small 'b' the computer will not let you log on. To avoid such problems please take a print out of your membership information, which appears after you register on the site. In case your problem persists write to support@netfundu.com
I've forgotten my password.
No need to panic. Simply click on the 'forgot your password?' text at the bottom of the login box. The computer will ask you for the answer to your secret question and your 'date of birth'. Once you enter these correctly the computer will give you your password, which you can use to successfully enter the site. Please note that if you provided an alternate e-mail ID at the time of registering, your password will be sent to that e-mail ID.
I've forgotten both my login ID and password.
Write to support@netfundu.com. If you provided an alternate e-mail ID at the time of registration we'll send your login ID and Password at the same e-mail ID. If you didn't, you'll have to create a new account. For security reasons we do not send out the login name and password of a user to other e-mail IDs.

Search
If you want to search for any particular topic in Netfundu.com, this is the place. Just key in the word or topic you want to search for in the search box (top right of the Netfundu home page) and click on the 'go' button. A list of pages that match your search criteria will be displayed along with the links. Each document has an abstract which is a paragraph from the contents of the page. To the left of each description you will find between 1-5 Fundus. The more the number of Fundus the more relevant the search results. You can reach a page by clicking both at the top and bottom links with each description.
You can also search by using the search box in the My Home Page section.
I know there is content on a certain topic but it didn't come up in the search.
Check the spellings of your search query. Always try using a single word or two instead of a phrase. For example while searching for 'diwali' please write 'diwali' instead of 'festival of crackers'.
Safety
The Netfundu Search is restricted to content from this site. Hence it is safe for children unlike some other sites which give results from the World Wide Web.
E Card
With Netfundu.com you can send e-greetings to all your friends and relatives. This service is completely free of cost. You have to be a Netfundu.com member to send a card. Register now.
You can use the E Card feature by clicking on the E Card section on the left panel of the Netfundu home page. You can also reach this section by clicking on the 'Send a card' option on 'My Home Page' or by clicking on the E Card option on the top panel when you're on the inside pages of Netfundu.com
 
How do I send a card?
Click on the E Card button on the left panel of the home page. You will see a list of occasions for which you can send a card. Click on the event/occasion for which you want to send a card. You will see the choice of cards available for that event. Choose the card you want to send by clicking on it. Now enter the name and e-mail ID of the person you want to send it to in the space provided. You may also enter a message you want to send with your card. If you don't want to send the card 'today', choose the date you want to send it on and activate the 'send' feature by clicking on the send button.
Preview
This option lets you see the final card before it goes. Clicking on the preview button next to the send button to preview a card. You will get to see a view of the card with the sender and receivers' name and e-mail and your complete message. You can change the message or any other details even at this stage by clicking on the make changes button on the preview page.
Please note that you can only see the preview once you enter all the required information.
Does the recipient of the card have to be a Netfundu member to see the card?
No. You can send the e-card to any e-mail ID anywhere in the world and they can see the greeting by clicking on the link in the mail.
Life of the card
All cards are kept on our computers for 90 days (after they are sent). This means that the person who receives the card can see it till 90 days after it is sent. After this time the card will no longer be available. If you want to retain your card even after this time, please save it on your computer's hard disk. For this you'll have to click on the 'File' option on your browser bar and choose 'save as' then save it on your computer.

Planner
The planner is a special organizer available to Netfundu members only. In the planner you can jot down (date wise) upcoming events, deadlines or even things to do. You'll have to login to use this section.
How to add an event
Simply click on the 'add' button next to the date you want to add the event for. Write a headline for the event for example 'Samrat's Birthday' in the subject box. Now add the details of the event or deadline, for example 'Wish Samrat on his birthday' in the message box and click on 'add event'. The event will be automatically added to your planner and the 'subject' will appear in the date-box.
How to view the details of an event you have added
Click on the event in the planner. You'll see the details of the event.
Editing an event
Suppose you had a birthday party to attend at 5.00 PM which gets postponed to 6.00PM. But your planner still says party at 5.00 PM. No reason to worry. Just click on that event in the planner. Under the details of the event you'll see an 'edit/ delete event' option. Click on this to edit the details of your event. Add the changes you want to make. Once you're done, click on the 'update' button to save the changes. In case the party gets canceled you can delete the event altogether by clicking on the 'delete' button next to the 'update' button.
 
Can I add more than one event for a day?
Of course! You can add as many events as you want. You can even specify the time of each event. To add more than one event click on the 'add' button again.
What are the different ways I can see my planner?
You can see the entries in your planner by clicking on these options:
a) This Month - This view shows all the days of the current month. The 'subject' or headings of your event will be displayed in the box of the date you have entered it for. This is the best view for adding/ editing events.
b) Week - The 'This Week' link shows the events you have planned for the current week. To see events for another week click on the Week view option on the left of the weekdays in the monthly planner.
c) Today - This view displays the events you have planned for the current day along with the time of each event.
Planning in advance
You can plan in advance for more than a year with the Netfundu.com planner. Reach the month you want to plan for by clicking on the 'next' option in the month view of your planner till you reach the desired month. After you enter your events go back to where you were by clicking on the 'previous' option in the planner till you reach the desired month.

Earn Points
Once you're a member with Netfundu.com you will automatically start earning points. You'll earn points when you view a page, play games, participate in contests, use features like e-mail, e-pals etc.
Do I have to do anything besides becoming a member of the site to earn points?
No, you don't have to do anything else for earning points. You automatically start earning points once you register with Netfundu.com
How do I know how many points I have got?
You'll have to login to check your points. You can see your tally of points on your 'My Home Page' at Netfundu.com. Or you can check your points by visiting the 'Earn Points' section on the left panel on the Netfundu home page.
Redeem your points
Check out the 'Redeem Points' option on the 'Earn Points' page (on the left panel of the Netfundu home page). Look up the gifts you can get with the number of points you have. If you have enough points for the gift of your choice, click on the 'Redeem' option next to the gift. Remember, the computer will process your request only if you have enough points for the gift of your choice.
Expiry of points
Worried about not collecting enough points in time to redeem your gifts? Relax! At Netfundu.com your points are in a virtual safe deposit. There is no time limit for you to redeem your points - this means your points will keep adding up till you decide to redeem them.
 
It's been two weeks now that I successfully redeemed my points but I still haven't got my gift.
Don't worry. It generally takes between 3-4 weeks to deliver gifts. If you don't receive your gift even after 4-6 weeks from the date of redeeming write to help@netfundu.com with the details.

Membership Cards
Netfundu offers three exciting Membership Card's- Platinum, Gold and Blue cards. Each card comes with a host of privileges like discount offers plus goodies. You can choose from any of three cards. Once we receive the payment from you the card alongwith the 'Fundu' goodies are delivered to your address. Normally this pack should reach members within 3 weeks of their sending us the order details and subscription for the same.
It's been more than three weeks and I still haven't got my Membership Card.
It normally takes us 2-3 weeks after receiving your subscription form and payment to mail your Membership Card. If more than 3 weeks have passed since you sent your order, write to fundu@netfundu.com and we'll find out just where the problem could be.
I live abroad. Will you send me a Membership Card if I send you a subscription form with payment?
Yes, but only if you send a Demand Draft and an Indian address for the delivery of your Membership Card. Please write your Indian address in the space provided for your address in the order form. Also mention this address on the back of your Demand Draft.
What are the uses of the Membership Card?
The Netfundu Membership Card can be presented at select stores for special gifts and discounts. For information on the latest offers please visit the 'Fundu Rewards' section.
 
Is there a difference in the privileges enjoyed by the holders of the four different cards (Platinum/Gold/Blue/Green)?
As of now all card members enjoy the same privileges and rewards. Members do however receive different gifts based on the card they order. Please check the 'Get Your Membership Card' page for details.
 
I've run out of the visiting cards. What should I do?
Print some more! Just click on the 'Print my visiting cards' option on the bottom right of the your 'Home Page' and follow the instructions to get a fresh set of visiting cards.

So you've got something to say, a story or joke to tell, a riddle or maze to puzzle, a painting to show or a good school result to brag about? Send it over to contribute@netfundu.com and we'll try to put it up on the site as soon as possible. You can also contribute on the site by clicking on the Contribute option on the U, U and U section page. All you have to do is fill in the form that opens up and press the submit button. Check out our special contributions section called U, U and U from time to time to see if your contribution is up. You can also visit this section by clicking on the 'Graffiti Wall' option in Time Pass.
 
I want to send my painting. How do I do that?
You'll have to scan your painting and attach it to your contribution request by clicking on the attach file option. If you don't have a scanner at home ask someone else to do it for you. Or you could send your painting by mail to our office in Delhi. (Take the address from the About Us page).

Mistakes
I spotted a mistake
Oops! We try our best to avoid making any mistakes but errors do happen once in a while. If you spot an error on our site click on the 'Write to Fundu' option on the Netfundu home page and send details of the error and where you spotted it. Remember - no error is too small for us, even the smallest spelling mistake matters. Don't bother about your language or length of the mail - Fundu loves those two line letters as much as the two page ones!

My Home Page
Netfundu members can personalize the site by creating their Home Page. On this page you can add details like your best friend's name and e-mail ID, pictures of your favourite stars etc. You can also choose from content like a daily joke, riddle, word, thought of the day etc. to be displayed on this page.
How do I create My Home Page?
To create your Home Page you'll have to register with Netfundu.com. After you successfully register, the computer will give you an option of creating your Home Page. Click on this option and choose the details of your Home Page by clicking on the choices you want. Then click on the 'submit' button to see your Home Page.
I'm already a member, how do I make my own Home Page?
It's simple. After you login, click on the 'My Home' option on the left panel. You'll reach the 'Create Home Page' section. Just choose from the options available and click on the 'submit' button. Your Home Page will appear along with all the choices you entered.
 
How long does it take to create my home page?
As little as 2-5 minutes! Yes, making your home page is very easy. All you have to do is choose from the available options and submit. No uploading files, no programming!
 
I don't want to choose any option will I get a blank home page?
No, the page will automatically pick up images instead of the content you chose not to have.
What are special features of the My Home Page section? How will I benefit by creating my home page?
You Home Page provides links to your E-mail (know how many new e-mails you have got, click to check mails) E-pals (know how many new invitations you have got, click to view invitations), Planner (see the calendar for the month along with current date, click to see planner details), Earn points (see how many points you have, click to reach the redeem points page), E Card, Fundu Times and the Contests page. The home page has an in built search box where you can directly key in the topic you want to search for and see the matching results. There is a 'To Do' box where you can maintain a 'To Do' list (click on the 'update To Do list' option to add/ delete things from your list). If you have a best friend whom you often write to, you can enter his/ her name and e-mail ID while making your homepage. Your best friend's name will appear in a special box on your home page with a link ( click on this link and you'll be taken to a compose box in your e-mail, write your message and just click on the 'send' option to send a mail). You can also update your Netfundu profile, print more visiting cards or change your Netfundu password from your home page. All these features are in addition to content like 'Thought of the Day', 'Riddle of the Day,' 'Word of the Day', Idiom of the Day', 'Joke of the Day', 'Brainteaser of the week', Fundu Fact of the week' that you can get when you make your 'My Home Page' on Netfundu.com
 
I created my Home Page but now I want to change it.
No problem! Click on the 'Modify Home Page' option at the bottom right of your home page and enter the changes you want in the format that opens. Then click on the 'submit' button. Your Home Page will appear with all the changes that you submitted.

Change Profile/Password
You can change your Netfundu profile or password by using the 'Update profile' or 'Change password' option in the bottom right of the 'My Home Page' section.

If you change your password please note down your new password carefully. Remember, your password is case sensitive. This means that if your Password is "Boot" with a capital 'B' and you enter "boot" with a small 'b' the computer will not let you log on. Also don't forget that when you change your password, both your login password and your e-mail password change, because at Netfundu.com your login password and e-mail password are the same.

E mail
Netfundu.com offers e-mail service to all its members. This service comes free to you when you register with the site. To send and receive letters, enter the e-mail section on the left panel of the Netfundu home page.
You can also go to this section from the 'My Home Page' section (click on the 'check mail' option). Your e-mail ID and password are the same as your Netfundu.com ID and password.
Netfundu uses the 'I-mail' package, one of the most preferred mail packages in the world. The mail service comes with a built in help feature and a Frequently Asked Questions list which can be accessed directly from your mailbox.

E Chat
The Netfundu Chat Room is a place where members can meet and discuss issues ranging from homework to the latest stars. It's also a great place to know what other children are thinking and make new pals in the process. Only registered members of our site can enter the Chat Room so if you want to use this feature register now.
Before you chat please read the Internet Safety guidelines on the site. Remember, it is important to follow netiquette when you chat on the net. For a simplified chatting experience, visit our Chatter's Box. The Chat Rooms are monitored to control any content which is unsuitable for children. Netfundu reserves the right to take legal action against anyone posting indecent/ threatening messages in the Chat Room.

How to Chat
Chatting is easy in the Netfundu Chat Room. Just login. You'll see a screen with all the ongoing messages in the Chat room. These are messages by other people who are chatting at the same time. To send your message type it in the 'message box' beneath the Chat screen and click on the 'send' button.
 
I was able to login but the Chat Room didn't show up
It takes about 20-30 seconds for the Chat Room to load, depending on the speed of your machine. Please be patient. If you're trying to chat from an Internet Cafe or a Network you might not be able to access the Chat Room because of the Cafe or Network machine's proxy settings. Usually there will be a message - Can't find host: www.netfundu.com' when this problem occurs. Please check with the 'Cafe Manager' or 'Network administrator'. If you still face a problem write to support@netfundu.com stating your problem. We'll attend to it immediately.

E Pals
At Netfundu.com you can make e-pals with fellow members once you are registered with the site.

To join the club enter the e-pals section and click on the 'register now as e-pal' button. You will be shown the profile you submitted on the site. If you want to make any changes in this profile, you will have to do so by using the 'Update profile' option in the 'My Home Page' section. If you are satisfied with this profile just enter your interests/hobbies for e.g. reading, swimming and listening to music, in the space provided and click on the 'add' button. You will be admitted to the e-pals club and taken to the e-pals page.

If you would like to send an 'e-pal' request to a friend who is a member of the section or if you want to find a person to whom you can send a request, this is the place to do so. You can find a pal by using the 'search by alphabet' (Option 1) option or the 'search by detail' (Option2) option. If you want to search by alphabet, click on the alphabet of your choice (if you're searching for a friend click on the alphabet with which that person's name starts). If you're searching by name, age, hobbies etc. you can fill in one or more options of your choice (you don't have to fill in all the options) and click on the search button.

The computer will show you profiles which match your search criteria. Once you find a profile you would like to contact, click on the 'contact pal' button on the right hand side of that profile. An e-mail will automatically be sent to that person from your side asking him/her to be your e-pal. You will see a message on the top of the page saying 'E-mail has been sent to "XYZ" asking him/her to be your e-pal. Check out your e-mail/inbox for response on the same.'

All you have to do now is wait for the person you contacted to respond to your mail. If that person accepts you as an e-pal you will get a letter telling you so and from then on will be able to directly write to the person's e-mail ID.

You can send as many requests as you. You are also likely to receive requests from people who like your profile. Please feel free to accept or reject any such request. However, do keep the Internet safety guidelines in mind while interacting with anyone you meet through the e-pals section.
I want to delete my profile from the e-pals section
If you want to leave the e-pals club, just click on 'Unregister me from e-pals list' on the top of the e-pals page. You'll see a pop-up window asking you if you are sure you would like your profile to be deleted from the e-pals list. Click on the 'OK' button to delete your profile or click the 'cancel' button (if you've changed your mind).
Please note that the 'Unregister' function only applies to the e-pals section. You'll continue to be a member of the site and enjoy all the benefits available to you as a member. You are welcome to rejoin the e-pals club any time in the future.
