The Arctic Ocean
	The Arctic Ocean is located mostly north of the Arctic Circle. It has a total area of 14 million square kilometres, making it the smallest of all the oceans. Its polar climate is characterized by persistent cold and very low temperatures, damp and foggy weather and weak cyclones with rain or snow. The surface of this ocean is almost covered throughout with ice, averaging about 3 meters in thickness. Its virtually frozen during October to June, making navigation impossible.
