FAQs What is a Forum? A Forum is a category that covers certain kind of topics for discussion. For instance, Education Forum would have topics concerning let's say, the subjects that one is studying at school or topics like 'Should there be homework', 'Books are a burden', 'Some great Projects for holidays', and so on. A Forum has a list of topics where you can get by clicking on the forum of your choice. Under every Forum there's a brief description that tells you what the forum is about. What is a Topic? A topic refers to the subject/topic that's being discussed. Usually one can make out by reading the topic what it's all about. For instance, a Topic in the Forum Sports may be- 'Isn't Sachin great?' How to suggest a new Forum? To suggest a new Forum write to discuss@netfundu.com describing the Forum that you wish to add. How to add a new Topic? It's easy to add a new Topic. First decide on the Forum relevant to your Topic. Say you want to talk about your favourite Movie, then you can't possibly be posting it in the Forum for School. You'll have to put it in the Forum called Entertainment. Click on the Forum and it'll take you to the home of the Forum chosen by you. There you just have to click on the red button reading 'Post a New Topic' which is at the right hand top and bottom of the Forum home. Having done that a form will open. Fill in the Subject of your Topic, click on the message icon to convey the mood of your topic, describe your Topic briefly and click on the submit button to post it… and your topic is sent. How to reply to a Topic? To reply to a topic, simply click on the chosen Topic and you'll be taken to the topic page with the name of the author and the replies under it. On the right hand extreme is a button that says Post Reply, just click on this button and a form will open where you can type in your reply to the chosen Topic. Spice up your Reply with the choice of message icons given. How to edit a Topic/ Reply? To edit a Topic or Reply, all you have to do is click on the Edit button given next to the Topic/ Reply concerned. Having done that a page will open where you can edit your message and can even delete it by clicking at the box on the top left hand side (remember, editing can be done only if you are the author of the chosen Topic/ Reply). What is meant by number of replies? This tells the number of replies a particular Forum/ Topic has received. What is an Open Topic? An Open Topic refers to a Topic that is open to discussion or in which you can participate by posting replies. What is a Closed Topic? A Closed Topic is one that is not open to Discussion. Meaning replies can't be posted to such Topics. However, you could read the replies of other members. If a topic does not receive replies for more than 30 days, the topic is closed for discussion. What are the Message Icons about? Message Icons are just a graphic way of giving you an idea as to what the Forum/ Topic or Reply is about.
